Hi, we are the Watkins family, nice to meet you!
After living in many states over the past 33 years, my husband Doug and I settled in Wisconsin’s Coulee Region in 2016. We already knew and loved the area (my dad’s is from the region) so Doug accepted a job offer and we made the move from Louisiana to La Crosse.
I have been a gardener essentially all my life. I loved helping in grandpa’s garden (they lived next door) and some of my earliest and best memories are being out there with him. When we bought our first home 30 years ago I started my own gardening journey. I always dreamed of living in a place where I could create beauty and joy in an expansive natural setting. We found our 39 acres of raw land (our Happy Hills) in the country outside of Cashton, WI in July 2020. Prepping the land and planting began right away. We focus on chemical free farming and incorporate sustainable agriculture practices whenever possible. We are always learning and growing!
Jen does the bulk of the farming and running the business. Doug is a full time engineer but helps out with farm infrastructure, operating equipment and working on various special projects. We add 1-2 part time farm hands in the summer. Our 4 children have all flown the coop and I consider this venture my “retirement plan”, with plans for one of our girls to take over the property when we decide to retire…someday! We are going into our fifth year of producing beautiful specialty cut flowers for the Driftless area of Wisconsin and look forward to serving you for many years to come!

Dakota, who we miss dearly is now living in England!
The farm we all love! This is one of 7 gardens, only 3 of the gardens are visible from the 2 roads we have frontage on. This is our u-pick garden on Omega Road, we have u-pick events by appointment only during July-September. The other 4 gardens are up the hill and not accessible to the public.
